Chabad Castel Stew House
An inseparable part of our responsibility as a community, and of each and every one as an individual, is to take care of those who don’t. We opened the stew house to help the needy, the elderly, the sick and the infertile who do not have hot meals. Some of them are in a difficult economic situation, along with many who can buy food for themselves, but simply… There is no one to cook for them! For all these, the heart and the house is open. Here they enjoy a hot meal every Shabbat, good company and above all – out of a homely and pleasant feeling that preserves their dignity.
Hot Food Door To Door
Every Saturday we send close to 200 cooked dishes to the homes of lonely, elderly, sick and disabled people who cannot come and eat with us. The hot meal allows them to enjoy a sense of Shabbat and brings some light into their homes and lives.
In preparation for the High Holidays and Passover, we are holding a special operation in which hundreds of hot meals are distributed to the needy – individuals and families, who enjoy a holiday atmosphere with dignity.
In addition, we hold community dinners in which families from the community also participate. That way, none of the people sitting at the table feel needy – and we’re all happy together!
